Last week I got an email from a girlfriend who, through friends, knew of a little girl that was set up for a private adoption. However, when the young mother delivered Emma the adoptive parents stepped down when it was discovered baby Emma had Downs Syndrome. Emma needed a new family within the week before she became a ward of the state. I sent the info on to friends that I thought might take interest in baby Emma.
One of our BabysitEase moms, herself an adoptive parent & and marketing dynamo, Sara Specter, shared baby Emma's story with people who were well connected in the adoption community & had plenty of resources to come alongside anyone in the adoption process. Long story short, Emma is moving to Wisconsin for a family that's excited to have her. And Sara continues on, bringing happy endings- not just to her story or baby Emma's, but to many families in our community.
