Couples should never give up on creative dating if they want to
keep the excitement alive in a relationship. Date nights at home are
often suggested for couples who find it difficult to date while being
married with children, but a married couple who stays home for dates or
goes to familiar places isn't getting the most of their time together.
Get out and enjoy a little rest and relaxation before the holiday rush begins. Take a look at this month's date ideas that will surely rejuvenate you:
Visit a local art gallery.
Visit a bookstore and read through some books together. Check out the travel section and dream about all the warm places that would be fun to be in right at that moment. Bookstores with coffee shops are an added bonus. Visit Borders in Deerfield Town Center or Barnes and Noble on the Levee.
Go on a day trip, one to two hours away, to a nearby town you've never visited.
Go to a local paint your own pottery studio and make some of your own mugs to keep all that hot chocolate, coffee and tea warm over the winter.
Go to the Hilton Netherland Plaza (formerly the Omni) for a drink at their art deco bar/lounge (The Bar at Palm Court), and then cross the street to enjoy the newly renovated Fountain Square. Then, pick up a ride on one of the horse drawn carriages.
Take this month to slow down, relax and enjoy each other!
What a great month to enjoy the falling leaves and gorgeous colors of the season! October is a great time to get outside and enjoy all that this beautiful city has to offer. Now is the time to check out activities that only come around once a year, or as in the case of Tall Stacks, once every four years.
The Ohio River comes alive once every four years at Tall Stacks! Take a cruise on one of the many varied river cruises (everything from breakfast, lunch and dinner to ice cream socials and wine tasting cruises) or just go down to the river to experience some nostalgia from a bygone era. http://www.tallstacks.com/.
Visit a local pumpkin patch for a hayride and pumpkin picking excursion. Grab a
pumpkin carving kit from your local store and have a pumpkin carving
competition. Here are some local pumpkin farms: Irons Pumpkin Farm, Sunrock Farm, Burger Farm, Shaw Farms, Benton Farms.
Visit Schneider’s Sweet Shop in Bellevue, KY for one of their famous caramel apples. They are only around till the end of October, grab them while you can. Take your caramel apples down the street to the BellevueBeachPark for a quiet place to watch the action on the river. http://www.schneiderscandies.com/
Discover your inner child – Go to Florence Mall and enjoy a ride on the double-decker carousel in the newly updated food court and then head to Sports of All Sorts for some rounds in the batting cage or miniature golf. http://www.sportsofallsortsky.com/
Those crisp, cool fall days are just around the corner, with the frigid winter days right on its heel. This makes September the perfect month to take advantage of the cooler days and evenings for that special date night! Here are some ideas to get you out of the house and into the great outdoors:
Go to a campsite for a dinner night. Pop popcorn over the fire or cook a Dutch oven dinner. Or skip the dinner altogether and just go for smores over the fire.
Invite your date to an outdoor concert. Rent a concert video and watch it in the back yard.
Using an astronomy book from the library, pick out the constellations and star patterns.
Go for a boat ride on BB Riverboats. http://www.bbriverboats.com/
